FCCLA
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA, Spanish: Líderes de las Familias, Carreras y Comunidades de América), formerly known as Future Homemakers of America (FHA), is a nonprofit U.S. career and technical student organization (CTSO) for young men and women in family and consumer science education (FACS) in public and private schools through grade 12 across the United States. FCCLA is the only in-school student organization with the family as its central focus; is a vocational student organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system, and it provides opportunities for active student participation at local, state, and national levels. FCCLA currently operates out of Reston, Virginia.

NEWS:
Here are a few updates on Kinder High's FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America) club:
On Wednesday, December 14, 2011 FCCLA held a Fish Fry Fund raiser with Chef Scott Landry and raised money to attend meetings and perform community service.
FCCLA members will attend the FCCLA Allen Parish meeting at the Oakdale Mowad Center on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 along with the other Allen Parish FCCLA clubs from Oberlin, Oakdale, Reeves, and Fairview. Kinder High's FCCLA will compete in a decorative hat contest, a candy wrapper contest, and Senior Seth Langley will compete in the Beau Contest.
Also, at the Annual Parish Meeting, four Kinder High student's who served as FCCLA Allen Parish officers for 2011, will relinquish their offices. These students are Hunter Graham - Senior, Amanda Edwards - Junior, Tawan Gradney - Junior, and Louella Lavan - Junior.
FCCLA members will attend the FCCLA Southwestern Regional meeting at the Rayne Civic Center on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 along with area FCCLA clubs from around Southwest Louisiana.
