HIGH SCHOOL MINORS AND MAJORS

 

 

  Minor Behaviors

Definitions

Fighting

Horseplay, pushing and shoving

Tardies

Being late for class

Disrespect

Lying,  gestures (e.g. rolling of  eyes) toward a staff member or student

Enter and exit building

Enter the building quietly and walking

Unprepared for class

Not having books, pencils, papers etc.

Profanity

Innocently, verbalized, gestured or drawn

Willful disobedience

Refusal or failure to follow directions

Disrupting

Causing continued interruptions to instruction or any school activity

Eating and drinking in hall/class/bathroom

Having food or drinks opened while student is not in designated area

Neglect of textbooks

Leaving textbooks on the floor of the hallway, on top of the lockers, outside on the sidewalk, picnic tables, benches, etc….

Dress Code Violation

Students not being in compliance with school policy

Cheating

Copying from or allowing someone else to copy any work assigned by any faculty member, plagiarism

Hall pass limit exceeded

Any hall pass issued after 6th pass used

 

 

 

 

 

Major Behaviors

Definitions

Fighting

Slapping, punching with fist, kicking, scratching, pulling hair and body slamming

Bullying

Threatening students verbally and or physically

Property damage

Student participates in an activity that results in substantial destruction or disfigurement of property

Throwing a foreign object

Throwing of an object that may cause injury to another student and or faculty

Stealing

Taking of property from another person without permission that does not belong to them

Profanity

Intentionally verbalized, gestured , or drawn

Disrespect

Talking back or defying a faculty or staff member

Vandalism

Destruction or defacement of school property that results in substantial disfigurement of property

Weapons

Students are in possession a weapon or any instrument that can be used to inflict bodily harm

Fire alarm

Pulling of the fire alarm

Vehicle use

Careless/reckless driving on campus or in school zone

In off-limits areas

In areas where no authority has been designated

Drugs/alcohol/tobacco  (DAT)

Having possession, using or distributing while on school grounds

Electronic telecommunication devices

Possession  of and or using of banned items

Public display of affection

Inappropriate display of affection

Failure to report to intervention/class

Not attending intervention/class

Computer usage

Inappropriate  use of the computer

Violent behavior

Temper tantrums, biting,  threatening to students and faculty verbally, physically or written

Sexual Harassment

Any inappropriate comment/gesture towards any other person that is associated with sexual behavior.

Willful Disobedience

Refusal or failure to follow directions after the 1st warning is given.
